hmmm would probably watch it, and probably be dissapointed like with most fantasy based movies trying to plug into an existing franchise.
While i loved the LOTR movies i was still dissapointed at some scenes not being in it, or even in the extended editions, and yes that woudl make a far far to long movie, but there you go.
I'm not sure if the translation from playign your own character in a game and loving it translates to seeing a movie of that game but without your character, obviously vice versa works, because making a game of a movie or book can and does work.
I think a movie of Prophicies woudl be far to long, too much goes on. however one of Factions may work as it is a far shorter chapter and less invovled with the others than Nightfall.

Live Action. No! im tired of Dungeons and Dragons Wrath of the DragonGod Quality film ruining fantasy. Lord of the Rings was good but i doubt GW would have the same people or the same buget.
Animated Movie. Yes! i love animated stuff, i would buy a GW animated movie.
CG. YES! a complete computer generated movie would be awesome! (Show us the Searing in a CG Movie!!

The basic plot of Prophecy is not bad, although it would obviously have to be streamlined.
You have the valient hero who loses the girl of his dreams (Prince Rurik) and is in conflict with his father. He must go on a desperate mission to save the people of Ascalon.
Of course, he couldn't die halfway through the movie, and I would re-write the Lych completely: I think the undead are overused. Just have the Charr, the White Mantle and the Titans (Mursatt are a toss up).
I think it would work best if it was mostly told during the Searing, with the destruction of Orr and the White Mantle fighting off the Charr (but not completely - that way the Charr are a threat throughout the movie, and Prince Rurik would fight the Charr leader at the end?)
Meh, I don't know what I'm talking about. Won't matter anyway, if any MMORPG will get a movie made of itself, it would be WoW.

>_>
There have been murmurs going around that WoW might be translated into a film.
<_<
But you didn't hear it from me...and don't quote me on that.

Man this movie would be pure gold. I can see it now. A new group of adventures start their journey with an experienced tutor.
Must have scenes would be:
Together all feel a savage foe who has a sword of great might. The warrior goes to take the sword from the dead body.
"It's stuck, why can't I take the sword?" "You see lad you can't just loot the enemies the you kill. That would fill the world with too much junk and make it unfair for traders to make mass profit off these items." "What kind of --- backwards logic is that?"
Next our ele prepares to blast an on coming mod.
"PREPARE TO EAT SAVAGE HEAT FOES~!!!" Ele casts the spell killing half the group. He prepares to cast again.
"What is going on, my spell, it wont cast again. It always worked before, what is happening?" "The Gods heard many complaints that the skill was too powerful, so now instead of being able to cast it every 5 seconds, you must now wait a full minute to cast it again. "We are gonna die then arn't we?" "Sadly yes."
Finally our team enters the barrens wastes and encounters something they never seen before. Hoards of robots rending everything in sight limb from limb.
"What terrible creatures are these?" "These are the bots, they savage our lands and we must pay penance for their deeds at all times." "Why can't the Gods just get rid of them?" "They find it easier to make all suffer so the robots cannot profit from these killing fields." "That makes no sense at all, the Gods are all powerful they should just smite them." "The Gods we have abaddoned this world a long time again. They only return in times of great need to sap our powers away and fuse items more firmly into the hands of the dead."
Man this film will rule.

There not just rumors its confirmed, they are indeed making a movie of it(WOW).
They could make a decent CG movie out of Gw but a live action one would be a BIG flop to be honest. Games -> films just never live up to the expectations. Although Imagine the horror of a Z axis in the film!

Well if they made Guild Wars: The Movie, they could always have a few spin-offs... Togo's Z-Axis Adventure. Kormir: Trancendance. Mhenlo's Dance Video 2 anyone?

I'd see it, even if it was bad. But it could be good, if they focused on one specific part of the story that would fit well in a feature film. I think the Searing through Gates of Kryta is about right. And Rurik should die at Frost Gate. Mehnlo, Cynn, Aiden, Devona & Eve can carry the film on. Maybe a "player character" who is in training pre-Sear but has gotten more confident and better in his abilities (probably a warrior) training under Rurik, who takes up the leadership role after Frost Gate.

That could work...
But there has to be a conclusion. The "problem" (film-wise) with Prophecy, is that the Charr are never dealt with. In the game, you move from one threat to another, without really ever "settling" the original problem (which works in a MMORPG - it explains why there are always Charr and Undead around), but would make a horrible film.
The Charr must be dealt with: either killed for revenge (I can see Gwen the Mesmer killing the lead Charr now!); or maybe taking yet unknown plot-lines from GWEN and GW2.
If they do make a WoW film, and it makes money, then maybe, just maybe, we'll see Guild Wars: The Movie.

here's how you fix that.
after the credits roll, show an unknown hero cresting a hill to the charr homeland. BAM sequel.

My points:
1. YAY! I see Rurik die LIVE
2. I can see mhenlo die of degen like a stupid turnip.
3. A well made movie with a good story is always worth watching.
EDIT: About the sequel, it would be cool if they made all of the campaigns AND also EotN. Not exactely a trilogy but it would kick a$$.

"In a time where time doesn't matter because even if you messed up you can just teleport back in time to a time where time didn't follow time to begin with, only YOU can be disappointed with what comes after you be the final boss, because the NPCs don't give a damn. Starring Christopher Walken as Prince Rurik and Al Pacino as the Lich."
And then Guild Wars the movie 2 is announced: Guild Wars: Troll Farming, starring James Van Der Beek as Annonymous Invicimonk #23454322
